Whenever I walk around Ortigas, I always notice this tree. I don’t know what tree it is but I find it refreshing and unusual. Different from the place where it is planted.
My heart broke when I heard they destroyed the building it occupies (which was designed by a Filipino National Artist but that’s a different story) and I thought this tree will also be removed, so I was happy when I saw that it was the only green in the rubble.
But I was walking there last week and saw it wasn’t there anymore.
I was sad but as for everything in life, we have to move on and hopefully to better things.

Merry Christmas to all of you my dear followers and friends :)
I’m thankful for anything and everything given this year. The likes, reblogs, and follows plus the people I have met through the web and through life encounters. I am forever thankful.

Despite the fact that people nowadays use their phones to capture snapshots, I still think there is a place for the point and shoot. I’m sure in 3-5 years time, the phones will be very capable to produce top notch images but I still want to have a dedicated tool specifically made for snapshots.
A point and shoot is always a nice thing to have. It doesn’t need to be pricey, it just need to take decent pictures.

I had a great view in my previous office but I prefer the view of my room’s window.

Self portrait on the bean. A must have when you visit Chicago I guess.
I had to know how much and how it is like for Americans to have their film developed and scanned the cheapest way possible.
A total of $8-$10 dollars per roll. Not including buying the film. ($9 dollars of 4x36 is the most inexpensive I could find)
Converted to peso it is around Php 300-400 pesos which expensive as hell because with that, I can have 5 rolls processed and scanned with change. Something to be thankful when I get back home at least :)
Everything  will be really inexpensive if you do it by yourself. Plus, I believe that is where you will find a consistent workflow.
For now, enjoy the upcoming street photos I queued from my first ever roll from my Leica M4-P and Industar 22.

Went around thrift stores to hunt for film cameras.

I never saw anything great because they are mostly broken or the 90’s cheap as hell point and shoots that your mom loves to use.

The thing is, there are still rolls left in some of the cameras. If I was rich, I’d do a project/essay on that. What form of financial  or emotional situation that made these people let go of the cameras with film in it. To me, it is like throwing away a memory. Sad really if you ask me.

Also took some pictures of the weird items people let go, some of their crap, old technology that probably no one would buy and things that I have never ever seen before.

Many of you would probably disagree with me but America is kinda weird too you know.
