What I’m holding is an old kodak point and shoot film camera my mother used in the 90’s.
I still prefer using the Leica for almost everything but the versatility and my growing love of the snapshot aesthetic folks in Japan seem to pull off with their Olympus Mju or Ricoh GR point and shoots is where I draw inspiration nowadays.
It actually keeps everything simple and less fiddly. Just point, shoot, and have the roll developed.

Top: Macbeth. L: Malcolm. R:Hecate Bottom: King Duncan

Did a photoshoot of the upcoming UA&P play, Makbet. (A Filipino translation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth)

I was in love with the steam punk inspired set, props, and production. I didn’t imagine that it would lend itself pretty well to that. So I just volunteered to go ahead and shoot some of the cast members.

As much as I love concentrating on street and documentary photography, I want to learn how to light properly using studio lights or strobes.

I think I did a pretty decent job :)

This is also a nice break to distance yourself from a project if you are pushing yourself too much. I should probably do this more often and just have fun with it.

Also, thanks to my buddy TReiz for letting me tinker with his gear and strobes. Will probably do more portrait stuff soon. A great stress reliever and good practice for when I do my documentary stuff.

I talk to random strangers.
I remember this was on Greenhills but I can’t remember why was I there.
He is a parking attendant who is having a long day at work. He was smoking and looking really tired. I had a nice conversation with him and he told me that what makes him work hard is for his family.
I wish he and his family is doing well.

Ginza Fest, Chicago. (Japanese Festival)
Perhaps the reason no one pays attention to me when I shoot is because I have a weird posture.
