I am about the saddest photographer I know

normsphotos:

Because I don’t even have my own DSLR.

Who said you need your own DSLR to be a happy photographer?

I use film and many others too, there are those who use point and shoots (Terry Richardson is notable for that and Buck Pago does photojournalism assignments with a point and shoot!)  some use iPhones [Instamatic is actually a good app], heck I’ve met a resident in Wawa dam who uses a Nokia Phone and produces amazing landscapes of the Dam! (and he even memorized the times when the light hits the Dam)

Borrow if you must. Buy the cheapest if you can. Save for the one you want so you can have it later on.

It is all about the light and your subject.

Never about what type of camera.

P.S.

For those of you who can obtain a series in BBC called A digital picture of Britain it is a must watch!

Tom Ang (the host and a photographer) invites other british photographers to use and try digital photography. You can be given a DSLR, a Point and Shoot, or a Sony Ericsson Camera phone. Inspiring and it will make you challenge your capabilities as a photographer as well :)
